For those who have purchased the spam filtering option, this tutorial will help you set up message filters in Thunderbird. Please refer to the Thunderbird website for further information.
This tutorial assumes you are using IMAP to collect your mail, however the process is identical, if you prefer to use POP3.
Message Filters
To set up a new mail filter, click "Tools" in the toolbar, then choose "Message Filters"
From this screen, you can add new filters, edit and delete filters for each mail account that you have set up in Thunderbird.
Add new filter
Click the New button
Type the name you want to call the filter, and select 'Match any of the following'.
Then from the dropdown boxes, select 'Subject' 'contains' then type the name of the subject the spam filter is giving spam messages
In the 'Perform these actions' section, tick the 'Move to folder' option. From the dropdown box, select what folder (on which mail account) you would like the mail moved to.
If you already have spam in your inbox, you can run the filter, by selecting the appropriate filter and pressing the Run Now button.
