The gallery2 version used in this tutorial was Gallery2 (typical).
You will also need the following files
Gallery Script
NetPBM Binaries
JHead Binaries
You will also need to install the php.cgi into your webspace. For information on doing that, please refer to this page
Uploading the files
Extract the downloaded gallery archive file.
Upload the extracted gallery folder into your httpdocs folder.
Extract the downloaded netpbm1 archive file. Copy the extracted netpbm folder into your gallery folder.
Extract the downloaded jhead.zip.
Copy the extracted jhead file into the gallery/netpbm folder.
Copy the .htaccess file from the testphpcgi folder (please refer to the email we send you when we set up the php.cgi) into the gallery folder
Create a new folder in the gallery folder, called g2data Now apply the following permissions.
g2data folder 777
netpbm folder 777
all files within the netpbm folder 777
Setup
Now go to http://yourdomain/yourgalleryfolder/
You should see a screen similar to this

Click the "Begin Installation" link, and follow the steps on each page.
On the second page, click the "correct version of login.txt" link, and download the file to your hard disk. Then re-upload it to the gallery folder, then click "Authenticate Me" to continue.

As long as you have copied the .htaccess file correctly for the php.cgi, then on step 2 you should see a page similar to this

On step 3, choose the standard installation option

On step 4, simply click "Save", as you should have created the g2data folder before starting the installation.
On step 5, insert your mySQL database details

On step 6, create an admin username and password, and remember it, as this will be the admin login to allow you to upload/edit/delete images.

On step 9, ensure that the "netpbm" module is selected as a module to activate.
After you have activated the modules, you will get a screen similar to this.

Please ignore any error messages about netpbm needing to be configured
Continue through the remaining steps
Finished and Configuring netpbm
Now go to http://yourdomain/yourgalleryfolder/ and gallery should be up and running. (Please replace yourdomain with your actual domain name, and replace yourgalleryfolder with the foldername you uploaded the gallery files to.)
Log in with the admin username and password, then click the "Site admin" link, then click the "Modules" link.
Click "Configure" next to netpbm.
The path for both netpbm, and jhead is /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/YOURDOMAIN.EXT/httpdocs/YOURGALLERYFOLDER/netpbm/
(Please replace yourdomain with your actual domain name, and replace yourgalleryfolder with the foldername you uploaded the gallery files to.)
Click the "Test settings" button to ensure that it is working fine
Ignore any messages about "bmptopnm or bmptoppm" or "ppmtobmp" not being present, all other main image types (.gif, .jpg, .png, .tiff) will work ok.

Click the "Save Settings" button, then go back to the "Modules" page, and click "Activate" next to netpbm.
