Our hosting accounts support the use of AWStats, we also have an automated installer available at http://scripts.34sp.com.

Should you wish to alter or add logins to the password protection for awstats when installed via our script installers please follow the instrucions below.

Firstly goto https://script.34sp.com/htpasswd/

On the page shown just type in the username and password combination you wish to allow and then click the 'Create Files' button.

You will then be presented with a screen listing .htpasswd files and something like this:

example:$1$48VeCof4$iu7VtaG/6lJ2Wq2wH9Ej9/

All we need to do now is to add this to the .htpasswd file that awstats uses.

This can be done via ftp but for ease you can do it via the plesk control panel.

Login at http://YOURDOMAIN/siteadmin

Once logged in click Home on top left (only necessary on plesk 8 servers)
Click your domain name in bottom center
Click FileManager in main screen
Now in the FileManager click the 'cgi-bin' in the file listing
you will now see the file marked '.htpasswd' click the edit icon that is in one of the columns to the right.
Now simply copy and paste the string that was created by the htpasswd file onto a new line in the text box and click the save button.

You can add as many user/pass combinations as you wish using this method, or just use this method to replace the current username and password combination.
